Brentford defender James Tarkowski has tonight refused to play in their Championship match against Burnley. Tarkowski was linked with a move to Albion earlier in the week which we covered on the site here.
Brentford Fc released an official statement on their website tonight confirming that Tarkowski had gone to manager Dean Smith and refused to play despite being selected to start the match.
The club also said later in the statement that they had received bids for the 23-year-old in this window but none had matched their valuation of the player. They went on to say that he would be punished for his actions shown.
Tarkowski has been at Brentford since 2014 when he joined from Oldham and has gone on to make 70 league appearances for the Championship club. It only appears a matter of time before he is allowed to leave the club with the likes of Albion and Burnley interested.
