Contrary to initial reports Tottenham Hotspur don’t have first refusal on West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino according to the Express and Star. Berahino has been a target for Spurs for well over a year now but remained at Albion during the January transfer window.
Reports came out over the weekend that Spurs would be the first club to hold talks with Berahino over a potential transfer in the summer in a verbal agreement between the two clubs. These reports have now been shot down and it looks like a free for all will ensue in the summer for the strikers signature. Newcastle and Stoke were also interested in the £24 million-rated Berahino in January but Albion said all window that he was not for sale. In the summer, the forward will have just 12 months left on his contract at The Hawthorns putting clubs on high alert with numerous clubs chasing his signature.
