Two Premier League clubs, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland, are interested in signing defender Terence Kongolo from Feyenoord, according to reports in Holland.

The 22-year-old is comfortable playing as either a centre-back or as a left-back, and Albion boss Tony Pulis is well known for deploying centre-backs in the full-back positions of his back four.

The 6’2″ defender is under contract with Feyenoord until 2018, so the Eredivisie side are in no desperate state to sell him, especially as he was a regular first-team player last season as Feyenoord finished third in the league.

Kongolo has been highly regarded in Holland for a long time. He was taken to the 2014 FIFA World Cup as part of Louis van Gaal’s squad aged 20, although he only made one appearance as a late substitute in a group game against Chile.

As well as the two English clubs, Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen are also reportedly interested in signing Kongolo.
