West Brom make bid for winger
West Bromwich Albion have made a £4million bid for QPR winger Matt Phillips, according to John Percy of the Telegraph.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis has reportedly been a long-time admirer of Phillips and the player has been heavily linked with a move to The Hawthorns during the past few transfer windows, but there has been a thought that QPR’s reported asking price of £10million was too rich for Albion’s blood.
However, it looks like QPR may have lowered their price for the 25-year-old, and Albion have moved quickly to try and sign him ahead of other interested parties, such as Middlesborough.
The North East side had a £6million bid rejected by QPR in January but are reportedly going to try to sign him once again, and it’s fair to say that if they were willing to spend £6million in January, they’d be prepared to spend the same amount again this summer.
Percy seems confident that the player will move to Albion.
