West Brom linked with Liverpool winger
West Brom are interested in a move for Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe, according to The Mirror.
With the Baggies releasing the likes of Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe and with Saido Berahino linked with a move away from the Hawthorns this summer, Tony Pulis is looking to strengthen his options in the final third ahead of the new Premier League season.
If reports are to be believed, he has set his sights on Liverpool’s England under-21 international as the man to inject some pace and flair into a side that will want to improve their style of play under Pulis, who has traditionally looked to solidify his sides rather than play free-flowing football.
Pulis was reportedly impressed by the 20-year-old’s performance in Liverpool’s final game of the season against West Brom, where he scored and has apparently made an enquiry into Ibe’s availability.
The enquiry was rejected, according to the paper, but West Brom will return to Liverpool with a loan offer in the upcoming days.
Ibe made 43 appearances in all competitions last season for the Reds but failed to cement a regular first-team spot in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
This, along with Liverpool’s pursuit of Southampton’s Sadio Mane, means that the 20-year-old could be on his way out of Anfield, albeit on a temporary basis.
