West Brom reportedly make club record bid for striker
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, West Brom have made a club-record £14.5m bid to West Ham for striker Diafra Sakho.
The Hammers forward recently handed in a transfer request after a frustrating season which saw him be replaced as the club’s first-choice striker.
Sakho scored seven goals in 24 games in all competitions last season in an injury-hit campaign but found the net 12 times in 26 games the year before following a £4m move from FC Metz.
The Senegalese international striker fell out with Slaven Bilic and the coaching staff after losing his place in the starting eleven to Andy Carroll.
West Ham have turned down a £12m bid already from Sunderland this summer as they are looking for £15m to let go of Sakho.
The Baggies are believed to have offered £14.5m for the striker, which would be a new club-record surpassing the £12m they shelled out for Salomon Rondon.
The Hammers, meanwhile, have stalled on accepting West Brom’s bid whilst they work on bringing in his replacement in the near future.
