West Brom line up club-record bid for forward
According to the Birmingham Mail, West Brom are lining up a club-record bid to sign West Ham striker Diafra Sakho.
The report says that West Brom are desperate to sign the striker and will have to pay over £12million for the forward. West Ham are hopeful that a club will meet their £15million valuation for the wantaway Sakho.
West Brom’s current transfer record is held by Salomon Rondon, who joined the Baggies from Zenit St Petersberg for £12million.
Sunderland have already had a £12million bid rejected for the want-away striker, meaning that West Brom will be forced into breaking their transfer record to sign Sakho.
Sakho had an impressive first season for West Ham after he signed from Metz in 2014, scoring ten goals in just 23 Premier League appearances but, he fell off last season, scoring just five goals in 20 games.
Now, he is looking for a move away and West Brom appears to be the most likely destination at this point. Although, the report says that Sunderland are also considering another offer.
