Stoke City make bid for Baggies star
The Birmingham Mail have reported that Stoke City have made a bid for West Brom star Saido Berahino.
The 22-year-old striker has been linked to multiple Premier League sides like Crystal Palace and Watford, but Stoke manager Mark Hughes confirmed to Sky Sports that they have made a move. The report states that the amount bid was £17million, although other outlets think it might have been worth up to £20million.
Either way, Hughes says that his club are still waiting on a reply from West Brom:
It is fair to say we have put bids in and as we stand I haven’t heard if these have been accepted yet. We are still hopeful on them.
Berahino has been with West Brom since he joined their youth academy in 2004. He spent time on loan at Northampton Town, Brentford, and Peterborough United before breaking into the West Brom team. In the last three Premier League seasons, he has made 101 appearances and found the net 23 times.
