West Brom to keep pushing move for Schlupp
West Brom will make another move for Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp after having their £9million bid rejected yesterday, says the Birmingham Mail.
While Leicester may have snubbed the bid from the Baggies, they look likely to try again. They will have to put more than £9million onto the table next time, however.
Schlupp was used mostly as a substitute last season after Christian Fuchs became Leicester’s leading left-back in their Premier League campaign. He made 24 appearances in the league overall and scored once.
The Ghana international has been part of the Leicester squad since his youth career, although he spent part of the 2010/11 season on loan to Brentford. He played in 35 of their 38 Premier League games during the 2014/15 season when they narrowly escaped relegation.
The Baggies’ most expensive defensive transfer is James Chester, who signed last summer for around £8 million. He has been linked with a move back to Hull, and with the Tigers already having injury problems, they may have to make a move.
