West Brom target confirms that he wants to leave his club
Leeds United full-back Charlie Taylor has told his club that he is not going to sign a new contract with the club.
Taylor, who is a reported target for the Baggies, is about to enter the final year of his contract with Leeds and he has told them he doesn’t intend to sign an extension.
Leeds’ chief executive officer Ben Mansfield told the BBC that the club now have to decide if they want to risk him leaving on a free if they don’t sell him this summer.
He said:
We run the risk that he could possibly go for free if we hold on to him. I think it’s fair to say at this moment in time that Charlie doesn’t want to extend his current deal with us.
Taylor was voted as the club’s player of the season last year and, speaking in April, he said he wants to stay with Leeds, but it looks like he has changed his mind.
The 22-year-old, who is also reportedly a target for Burnley and Middlesborough, ould be a good signing for Albion and would bring the average age of the defence down, something Tony Pulis is keen to do.
Unless anything drastic happens, I’m sure I’ll be here. I’m not thinking any other way. The dream is still to play in the Premier League with Leeds. I’m not just saying that.
