Rodriguez to stay at Southampton
Jay Rodriguez is now set to stay at Southampton, despite reports indicating he could join West Brom on loan, according to Sky Sports.
The report says that Southampton are now looking to keep Rodriguez at the club this summer, although they were previously wanting to loan the forward out to gain regular game-time.
Rodriguez currently looks to be fourth choice striker at Southampton, with Shane Long, Charlie Austin and Nathan Redmond all ahead of him in the pecking order.
However, the Englishman has certainly made his case for a spot in the team by scoring a fantastic goal against Sunderland in the Premier League. Rodriguez scored in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland yesterday, as he blasted the ball in from the edge of the box.
It now looks as though Rodriguez will stay at Southampton and fight for his spot in the Saints line-up, rather than make the move to West Brom.
