Salomon Rondon’s equaliser in injury-time earned Tony Pulis’ side a point against Stoke City at the Bet 365 Stadium.
In a somewhat forgettable game, Stoke took the lead thanks to Joe Allen who poked home after Jonny Evans headed the ball straight to him.
In Tony Pulis’ 1000th game as a manager, many of which had taken place in this stadium, West Brom were typically solid and slightly unambitious, creating very little.
It looked like they were happy to take a point and maybe nick a goal, but Allen’s finish threw a spanner in the works. However, Rondon’s late header got Albion back level and prevented Stoke from picking up their first win of the season.
Albion have now won two, drawn two and lost two of their opening six league games and sit in tenth place in the table.
Here are our player ratings from the game at Stoke:
Ben Foster - 6
Solid game. Couldn’t do anything about the goal.
Craig Dawson - 8
Made a vital clearance on the goal line to deny Glen Johnson. Also made a few vital interceptions in an excellent performance.
Gareth McAuley - 7
Kept Wilfried Bony and Peter Crouch relatively quiet all game.
Jonny Evans - 5
Gave the ball away far too often and headed the ball straight to Joe Allen for the goal. Not one of his better days.
Allan Nyom - 6
Filled in at left-back in place of the ill Brendan Galloway and had a solid game.
Matt Phillips - 5
Apart from nearly giving a penalty away, he was pretty anonymous.
Claudio Yacob - 6
Did well without the ball and covered the attacking players well but he was a bit wasteful in possession.
Darren Fletcher - 4
Poor game from the captain. He misplaced too many passes and just looks out of nick.
James McClean - 5
Not one of the better games from the Irishman who was pretty ineffective.
Nacer Chadli - 6
Could have been sent off for a high boot on Joe Allen. Other than that, he was solid but not spectacular.
Salomon Rondon - 8
Was so isolated but worked hard to create a few half-chances for himself before getting a goal late on.
