West Brom made a bid for Portuguese winger
West Brom made a late bid to try to sign Portuguese winger Burma from Galatasaray, according to reports.
PSV Eindhoven’s technical director Marcel Brands made a bid of £6.25million for the 21-year-old but West Brom apparently doubled that just before the transfer window closed.
In the end, Galatasaray decided that they wanted to keep the player so refused both bids and their decision is looking justified.
Bruma has been in good form for his club and for Portugal’s U21 side and if nothing else, he’s probably increased his value if Galatasaray do decide to sell up in the future.
He has two goals and three assists in just six league appearances and he was one of Portugal U21’s best players as they hammered Liechtenstein 7-1.
Many West Brom fans were disappointed with how the club’s transfer window ended, with some accusing the board of lacking ambition. However, it does look like the made a bid for the talented young winger, however, it must be asked why they left it so late.
In fact, Bruma’s form this season has apparently alerted Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham to his availability, so West Brom could find it difficult to get him in the future.
