West Bromwich Albion finished their 2016 with a brilliant come from behind win at Southampton as the Baggies finish the year 8th in the Premier League table.

Former Albion striker Shane Long gave Southampton the lead with a near-post header just before half time which looked to give the home side heading into the break. There was still time for Albion to draw level before the interval, though. A clever team move was finished by Matt Phillips who rolled the ball past Fraser Forster for his 4th goal in 9 games.

Albion were the brighter side in the second half and were rewarded for their hard work when Hal-Robson Kanu who was making his first start for the club scored a wonder goal;

The Baggies task was made easier after Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk picked up a second yellow card with just a few minutes remaining.

Albion leapfrog Southampton in the table to finish the year in 8th place.
