West Brom are one of a number of sides said to be interested in signing Hibernian midfielder John McGinn in the summer but they’ve fallen behind in the race for his signature.

According to the Daily Mail, Sunderland manager David Moyes has made personal checks on McGinn, watching him in action against Dundee last week with a view to a summer move.

The 22-year-old has been one of Neil Lennon’s key players this season contributing towards 10 goals (four goals, six assists) this season in aid of Hibernian’s promotion bid back to the SPL.

Capped twice by Scotland, McGinn is reportedly valued at £1.5m which could make him a bargain buy for the Baggies if Tony Pulis decides to firm up his interest in the industrious central midfielder.

West Brom’s central midfield options do edge on the ageing side and bringing in some young talent to develop under the older heads would be a wise move as the club will look to build on their likely top half finish this season.
