According to the Telegraph, West Brom have joined the chase for Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.

The English defender has done well for Stoke this season, helping them reach as high as ninth so far and providing a solidity to the Potters’ defence for some time now, which has attracted a lot of attention from a few different clubs.

Shawcross could look to reunite with ex-manager Tony Pulis this summer, after considering a move away for some time.

The Englishman has played at Stoke for almost a decade, making over 370 appearances for the Potters, and with one year left on his contract, there is every chance that he will look to leave this summer.

Newcastle and Brighton are the two other clubs in the race for the English centre-half and, with the two Championship sides probably getting promoted to the Premier League for next season, they will both look to solidify their defence with a defender with top-tier experience.

If Shawcross does decide to leave the Potters, West Brom would probably be in pole position to get him due to his past relationship with Pulis.
