West Brom close in on £100,000 move for non-league star
West Brom are close to completing a move for Lincoln City defender Sean Raggett, according to a report from Sami Mokbel of The Daily Mail.
The Baggies are apparently going to pay £100,000 to the non-league side for the 23-year-old who shot to fame when he scored the goal to knock Burnley out of the FA Cup earlier this season and put Lincoln into the quarter-finals.
Lincoln will be playing League Two football next season after winning the conference but it looks like Raggett will find himself on the books of a top-flight side.
According to the report, a number of Premier League and Championship sides have kept a close eye on the centre back all season but West Brom appear to be the first to make a move to sign him.
At 6’5″, he certainly brings with him a physical presence and would provide depth at centre back, something needed since the recent departure of veteran defender Jonas Olsson.
