West Brom are one of a number of clubs said to be chasing Sporting striker Bas Dost this summer.

The Dutch striker only arrived in Portugal last summer in a £8.5m deal from Wolfsburg and has been an instant hit, netting 31 goals in 29 Liga NOS matches so far this season.

Dost is very much in the best goalscoring form of his career with 13 goals in his last eight games (including three hat-tricks), and is on the Baggies’ radar as they look to add to their strike force.

Under contract until 2020, Dost has a release clause which stands at £50m but the Baggies have been boosted in their efforts to sign him.

Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho has spoken about what it would take to sell the in-form striker.

“All I can do is confirm that I don’t have the need to sell at this time,” de Carvalho said in quotes reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.

“However, if I receive a crazy offer, I will accept. If I have a good offer, and the willingness of the player, we’ll see”.

Correio da Manha claims that Everton, West Brom and Stoke are all keen on signing him.
