West Brom and Tottenham join race to sign Lucas Alario
Premier League sides West Brom and Tottenham Hotspur have joined a whole host of clubs in the race to sign River Plate forward Lucas Alario, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has been in good form this season, scoring 11 goals and making three assists in just 24 games and is apparently being monitored by PSG and Lazio.
However, as reported by Argentine newspaper Ole, it is West Brom who are ‘edging ahead’ of the chasing pack as their interest seems to be the most concrete.
River Plate would be keen to keep the Argentinian international but his contract contains a release clause of £15.5m so if the Baggies, or any other team for that matter, make a bid of that amount, they can’t do anything to prevent him from leading.
Whether he’d fancy a move to West Brom is another matter but, out of all the teams reportedly interested in him, Albion would be the club where he’d be most likely to start from day one.
