West Brom Player Ratings: Swansea (A)
West Brom failed to end the season in style this afternoon as Swansea City came away with a 2-1 win.
Tony Pulis was hoping to lead his side back up to eighth place ahead of Southampton by winning today, but they failed to take advantage of the Saints’ slip-up against Stoke and fell short at the Liberty Stadium.
However, it was a good start for the travelling Baggies as they took the lead just a few minutes after the half-hour mark. Jonny Evans rose highest to power the ball beyond the bodies in the box, making it 1-0 to the visitors at half time.
Despite this though, Swansea kept pushing and pushing and their efforts were eventually rewarded, with Jordan Ayew equalising with under 20 minutes of normal time still to play.
Swans delivered the crushing blow to Pulis’ side on the 86th minute though, as Fernando Llorente clinched the winner on an eventually bad day for the Baggies.
