The 2016/17 campaign is finally over and the hard work will now begin for Tony Pulis and his men behind the scenes at West Brom.
It’s set to be an important summer for the club as they look to make the next step in the Premier League, pushing on to try and break into the top seven and challenge the likes of Everton for the accolade of European football.
However, to do this, the Baggies are sure to need a plethora of new signings. The squad needs revitalising after a shoddy end to the campaign and fresh blood is an absolute necessity.
While it’s certainly time to splash the cash in the window, the free agent market shouldn’t be overlooked nor snubbed, as there is most definitely some talented players to be had for no fee whatsoever.
So, take a look at five free agents we think the Baggies should consider signing!
Charlie Taylor
Taylor’s contract saga at Leeds has dragged on and on but he’d be an ideal signing for West Brom. A left-back is needed and with age on his side, he’d be a shrewd addition.
Lucas Leiva
Lucas is set for an exit from Anfield this summer and West Brom would surely benefit from his experience and composure in the middle.
Gael Clichy
Clichy is to leave Manchester City next month and despite him having a poor season there, he’s still good enough for a mid-table/top eight side such as the Baggies. An orthodox left-back wouldn’t go amiss.
Yevhen Khacheridi
Khacheridi has been good for Dynamo Kiev and as he nears 30, will be keen to make a switch to a top European league. He could realise this dream at the Hawthorns.
Haris Seferovic
Seferovic appears to be in talks with Benfica but perhaps the lure of first-team Premier League football could be enough. He’s 25 and still has a lot to offer, with the Baggies in need of attacking inspiration.
