The Birmingham Mail suggests that the West Brom owner, Guochuan Lai, will give Tony Pulis a club-record transfer budget for the upcoming transfer window to improve West Brom’s squad.

West Brom have got a small, ageing squad so major investment during the summer transfer window is needed, especially if they want to play attractive football, which their fans desperately crave.

Reports say that the Baggies still have £15 million left over from last summer, as they failed to sign the Malaga defensive midfielder, Ignacio Camacho. They will also have the money from the transfers of Saido Berahino to Stoke (£15 million) and Craig Gardner to Birmingham (£1.5 million).

Troy Deeney and William Carvalho are said to be main targets for West Brom this summer in an attempt to add and improve to the squad.

West Brom are set to break their record transfer fee for one player this summer, with them only breaking their record last summer, with the signing of Nacer Chadli from Tottenham for £13 million.

The Baggies have broken their record transfer fee every year since 2013, with their signing of Stephane Sessegnon for £6.6 million, then it was for Browne Ideye in 2014 for £10 million and then it was broken for Salomon Rondon in 2015 for a fee of £12 million.
