Stoke make offer for Baggies target
West Brom target Ben Gibson is the subject of a £12 million bid from fellow Premier League club Stoke City.
The Mirror have today stated that Stoke have tabled a formal offer for the Englishman and look set to battle the Baggies for his signature.
Middlesbrough’s 24-year-old defender had an impressive individual campaign although his side ended up being relegated from the top flight.
He played every single minute of the 2016/17 campaign and bagged himself one goal in the process. Gibson was rewarded for his noticeable progress with a first England call-up, back in March.
After Middlesbrough’s relegation to the Championship it’s understandable for Gibson to be in favour of playing his football back in the Premier League next season.
It is also stated in the Mirror’s report that Boro believe only a fee of more than £20 million would be plausible to sign the defender.
He certainly will not be short of potential suitors, with Chelsea, Leicester and Southampton also among the sides looking to fend off interest from West Brom this summer.
