West Brom are set to seal the signing of defender Andrea Ranocchia from Inter Milan for £5m.
According to the Daily Star, West Brom have beaten Huddersfield and Genoa to his signature.
Newly promoted Huddersfield are looking to strengthen their defence but have been outgunned by West Brom, also looking to add to their squad.
Genoa were also keen, a club Ranocchia has played for previously.
Ranocchia spent last season on loan to Hull in the Premier League but was unable to save them from relegation to the Championship.
He now looks set for a return to the English top-flight with West Brom.
The Italian appears to have no future at Inter Milan, who are keen to move him on before bringing in reinforcements of their own this summer.
The report claims that West Brom have moved to sign Ranocchia after missing out on the signing of Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea.
Ranocchia will sign a two-year deal with the club.
