West Brom reportedly readying third Gibson offer
West Brom don’t appear to be taking no for an answer in their hunt to sign Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson this summer.
According to a report from the Mirror today, the Baggies are preparing a third offer for the centre-back, who Boro are keen to keep hold of for their upcoming Championship campaign.
Gibson enjoyed a promising first season in the top flight and was one of Boro’s best players, despite their relegation. This has, however, attracted the inevitable interest of Premier League clubs such as West Brom, who are keen to keep him in the top tier of English football this summer.
It appears as though West Brom are the side with the strongest interest, but they have already had two bids rejected for the defender, with the most recent one reportedly being worth £18m – a fee that would smash their club-record transfer.
Now though, the Mirror have claimed that West Brom are readying a bid worth £20m for the defender, which could very well tempt Boro into selling.
