West Brom have joined the race to sign Leeds United talisman Chris Wood, according to the Yorkshire Post.
It is understood that last season’s Championship top scorer is also on Swansea City, Stoke City and Burnley’s radar, with the latter already having a £15 million bid turned down by Leeds.
As the transfer deadline day draws ever closer, West Brom have made their intentions clear about signing Wood, with a potential partnership with Jay Rodriguez up front an exciting prospect for Tony Pulis.
But Leeds will not roll over without a fight and are determined to keep hold of their star man, as they hope the 25-year-old will fire them into the Premier League this season, after coming so close last season.
However, it is reported that Leeds would consider any offers in excess of £20 million for the New Zealand international, which Albion boss Pulis could be willing to spend.
Wood scored 27 goals for Leeds last season, as he finished as the league’s top scorer and he already has a goal under his belt this season.
