West Brom’s first game back after the international break sees them travel south to take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Baggies go into the game on seven points from three games whilst Brighton have just the single point from their three opening fixtures.
In the past, it was fairly easy to predict Tony Pulis’ starting line up such was the lack of squad depth but that is no longer the case. Albion made a few good additions over the course of the summer and as such, Pulis has a wide range of options to choose from.
Here’s the XI I think he’ll pick for this game:
Goalkeeper: Ben Foster
No brainer really. Ben Foster is the first name on the team sheet each week.
Right Back: Craig Dawson
There has been some talk of Craig Dawson moving to centre back but I think he’ll stay on the right.
Centre Back: Jonny Evans
It looked like Jonny Evans had played his last game for the club but he’s still here and as such, he plays.
Centre Back: Ahmed Hegazi
Ahmed Hegazi is the man who could be replaced if Dawson were to move to centre back but I think the manager will keep things as they were.
Left Back: Kieran Gibbs
New signing Kieran Gibbs should make his West Brom debut at Brighton.
Midfield: Gareth Barry
Gareth Barry should anchor the midfield once again.
Midfield: Grzegorz Krychowiak
Grzegorz Krychowiak should be the second Albion debutant in the game.
Midfield: Jake Livermore
I expect Jake Livermore to join Barry and Krychowiak in a midfield three.
Right Wing: Matt Phillips
Matt Phillips is another man whose place is under pressure from new signings but I think he gets the nod here.
Left Wing: Chris Brunt
I think Chris Brunt, fresh from a successful week with Northern Ireland, will play from the left.
Striker: Jay Rodriguez
Jay Rodriguez has been playing somewhat of a supporting role recently but I think he’ll lead the line in this game.
