Burnley received no offers for Ashley Barnes during the summer, a player who was linked with a deadline day move to West Brom.
According to The Lancashire Telegraph, no club made an offer for Barnes during the summer transfer window.
Tony Pulis was said to be keen on a move for Barnes but it appears as though a bid never came to fruition.
West Brom did conclude two astute bits of business on deadline day. Kieran Gibbs and Grezgorz Krychowiak both arrived from Arsenal and PSG respectively.
Barnes was seemingly free to leave Burnley after they signed Chris Wood from Leeds and Nahki Wells from Huddersfield.
Burnley signed Wood for a club-record £15m from Leeds. He has scored two goals in two games for Burnley since signing.
West Brom did sign forward Jay Rodriguez for £12m from Southampton earlier this summer but were looking to add further firepower to their squad.
They will now have to wait until January to do more business.
