West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore originally missed out on a call-up to the England squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Germany but he’s been drafted in by Gareth Southgate after a number of players have been ruled out with injuries.

Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Harry Winks have withdrawn from Southgate’s squad whilst there are still question marks over Jordan Henderson’s fitness after he missed Liverpool’s win over West Ham with an issue of his own.

Livermore will be desperate to impress in the upcoming games to put himself back in the mix for a place in the World Cup squad this summer because as it stands, it looks like he’s been leapfrogged by a few younger players in Southgate’s mind.

The likes of Winks and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were drafted into the recent squad ahead of Livermore, who has had a bit of a dip in form in recent weeks, so the Albion man will be keen to prove his worth to the England boss.
