West Brom succumbed to yet another disappointing defeat on Saturday, as they were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City.
The Baggies travelled to Wales in desperate need of a win to push them up the table but failed to deliver, as a valiant performance proved to be insufficient at the Liberty Stadium.
It was Wilfried Bony who scored the decisive goal. The Ivorian striker thumped the ball home following a scramble in the area, sealing all three points for West Brom’s fellow strugglers Swansea.
Here are our player ratings from the disappointing defeat.
Ben Foster - 6
Helpless to prevent Bony’s thumping effort.
Allan Nyom - 5
Was uncomfortable on the right throughout the match.
Jonny Evans - 6
A largely solid performance from Evans, but nothing particularly special.
Ahmed Hegazi - 6
As was the case with Evans, Hegazi did nothing outstandingly but nothing badly.
Kieran Gibbs - 6
Coped reasonably well with Nathan Dyer and was composed while on the ball.
Hal Robson-Kanu - 5
Just wasn’t comfortable on the right. Seemed out of place.
Jake Livermore - 7
The best of a bad bunch. Livermore was pragmatic on the ball, worked relentlessly hard and although it wasn’t perfect, it was a gritty performance in the middle.
Claudio Yacob - 5
Failed to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
Sam Field - 5
Like Robson-Kanu, he isn’t a winger. Needs to be played in the middle to have a wholly positive influence.
Salomon Rondon - 5
Worked hard and pressed well but his efforts were to be of no avail on the day.
Jay Rodriguez - 4
Horrendously out of form and looks absolutely shot of confidence. He’s in a bad situation at the moment but no-one can fault his work ethic.
