Livemore hails in-form Rodriguez
West Brom midfielder has heaped praise on his teammate and in-form forward Jay Rodriguez.
The 28-year old forward scored the only goal in Albion’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, taking his personal goal tally for the season to 11 in all competitions.
It was the third goal in four games for the one-time England international, who has enjoyed a spell of good form recently, despite West Brom’s woes.
Ahead of hosting Liverpool at the Hawthorns on Saturday, Livermore has hailed his teammate, crediting his professionalism. Talking to the club’s official website, he said;
Jay has had a fantastic season.
He’s played out of position for large parts of it. Credit to him because he’s a great professional, a great lad and sometimes that can work against you.
He’s done a job for the team and to come up with 11 goals in a team that has not scored a bundle is fantastic.
Credit to him.
Albion sit 20th in the Premier League table and look all but relegated, and now face Champions League semi-finalists Liverpool in what would be a huge three points for the Midlands club.
Having just beaten United, Livermore is keen to continue performing against the top sides. He continued;
We would have liked a few more pluses this year but that (winning at Old Trafford) was certainly one of them.
I’m delighted for the group of boys, it’s been a difficult season, and so to come out with the three points there gives us a bit of belief to go forward.
It was a great game to be involved in, obviously, and we just hope we can pull confidence from that and continue.
