Ex-Albion under-21 player Kemar Roofe has spoken out about the lack of game-time he got at The Hawthorns and says he should have been involved in the first team. Here’s what Roofe has been quoted in saying taken from The Express;

“I never got a chance at West Brom. I put in the performances in the Under-21s and trained hard but just didn’t get the chance. I got on the bench but never got even a few minutes. I believe I should have had a chance. I did as much as I could. It’s down to giving the young players the opportunity.”

Roofe left West Brom a year ago joining Oxford on loan until the end of last season. After his short loan spell, he made the permanent switch after becoming a fan favourite at the club. The youngster caught the attention of many today after scoring two in Oxford’s 3rd round FA Cup tie against Premier League side Swansea. His double today saw his tally rise to 15 for the season.
