Welcome to Read West Brom’s deadline day live blog for the January transfer window 2016. We’ll have updates throughout the day on all the latest coming’s and going’s at The Hawthorns.

Pritchard has joined on loan

Sandro also joined on loan earlier in the window

Outgoings look unlikely

Newcastle, Spurs, and Stoke fighting for Berahino

Berahino has finally spoken out and with that we can all go to bed. Thanks for reading. Here’s to a successful 2016.

The updates are getting less and less we may have to start a quiz on our Twittter…

Nothing is happening the shop is shut. Berahino and Pulis must have gone home when they left the training ground early. Surely we’d have heard something if it was going to happen this late… We’ve been asking this anyway…

4 hours left.

I’ve been doing this since around 9am, this morning and all I have to bring you in the loan signing of Pritchard which we knew last night. Every passing minute makes it look more and more unlikely that anything will happen, but we can dream. Pull a rabbit out of the hat Tony.

T-minus 4 hours 30 minutes till meltdown…

We also have just under 5 hours to save my Twitter account. Not sure I’ll be able to cope until the summer. I’d take Alan Hutton at this point. Feel free to follow me, I’ll follow you back and I promise my tweets will be good in 2019.

It’s all gone a little quiet but there’s still plenty of time… Wait is that Carlton Cole in the canteen again?

Unfortunately it’s Victor Anichebe;

Reports are coming out of the Liverpool Echo that Albion were interested in Everton full-back Bryan Oviedo. Albion looked at the possibility of a loan signing but Everton were reluctant to let him go.

How about this for some late drama? We have all the details here – http://readwestbrom.com/2016/02/01/odds-slashed-leicester-sign-albion-star/

It’s starting to heat up…

Alex Pritchard has been speaking to the club via Albion’s Twitter account. There’re some great quotes in there about how he chose Albion, his tough start to the season, playing for England and playing through the leagues.

It’s not transfer news but we’ve got nothing else to talk about at the moment. Albion’s replay against Peterborough has been moved to Wednesday and will be live on the BBC. Chris Brunskill/Getty Images Sport

We asked what position you think we should strengthen and we had some very different responses….

We’re all asking this…

Everyone seems to be reporting the same thing, but never say never;

Looks like Poco will be staying. Wolves were the favourites to sign him on loan at one point.

Interesting this from the club 2/4 pictures from training include Berahino despite Dave Kemp saying he only took part in the warm up. A warning to potential buyers?

It’s the middle of the day lull so we ran a caption competition on our Twitter;

8 hours to go!

The clock is ticking… Does anybody know where Saido is?

Mark Hughes has been speaking about Saido Berahino in his press conference;

There’s not much happening at all. We wait on Berahino news. In a bit of former Albion player news, Dorrans looks set to be joining Burnley on loan.

One time Albion target James Tarkowski is having a medical at Burnley;

Good news coming out of the press conference regarding two players.

In Tony Pulis’ absence Dave Kemp has given us the latest on Saido Berahino and it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere…

This is big news. Newcastle tried to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Silmani for a reported €20 million and the bid was rejected. Could their attentions turn to Berahino now? Full story – http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2016/newcastle-have-e20m-offer-rejected-for-islam-slimani/

Pritchard is a done deal. This hour could be interesting with Dave Kemp doing the press conference after Pulis left the ground early.

Great stat about our new signing Pritchard here. Missing link?

Despite it being announced after midday Pritchard will be available for selection tomorrow. Albion play Swansea at home tomorrow night.

Some quotes from our new signing Pritchard who will wear the number 20 shirt;

“It’s been a hectic few hours – I was close to going elsewhere – but when this came about I didn’t hesitate to come here,” said Pritchard.
“I’m here and excited to get going.
“I spoke to Tony Pulis and coaches and was told to do my best, work hard and make an impression.
“I’m an attacking player, I like to get on the ball, make things happen and have an eye for goal.
“I can play on the wing or centrally – it’s a dream to play in the Premier League and I hope I get that chance.”

And it has finally been announced! Alex Pritchard has joined on loan until the end of the season!

We had you wonderful lot vote on our Berahino poll and here’s the results;

Betting has been suspended on Saido Berahino to join Newcastle. This could get interesting.

Berahino is in a car somewhere. Pulis is out doing something. We’re waiting for news. If Berahino goes will we have time to reinvest?

Stoke appear to be out of the running for Berahino. It looks like it’s Newcastle or nothing for the forward now. Stoke look set to spend there remaining budget;

So now we play the waiting game again… Lunch anybody?

How true do you think this is?….

Some good news for Albion that Pritchard was done in time for him to be in tomorrow’s squad against Swansea.

It’s all happening is Pulis working some magic or is Berahino going?

Saido Berhaino has left the training ground early. Is he going across the Midlands, up north or down to London?

The tumbleweed pictures may be out in force soon…

There’s not much going on but we’ve had a new article go up on the site about new loan signing Alex Pritchard. We’ve picked out FIVE reasons why he’s a good signing for Albion; http://readwestbrom.com/2016/02/01/five-reasons-pritchard-good-signing-albion/

Here’s some very strange news…

So now we wait and see what Albion do about that £24 million bid if the reports turn out to be true. Not a lot happening at the moment and it appears that there will be NO outgoings at the club today.

The mirror are reporting that Newcastle have made an increased offer for Saido Berahino after having £21 million turned down.

Just a short bit here from Arsene Wenger. Speaking in his press conference today he confirmed that Serge Gnabry will be going out on loan to a Championship club. He said he wanted him to get competition because “He didn’t play much at West Brom”Stephen Pond/Getty Images Sport

Sky Sports reporting that Albion have said Berahino is not for sale. Money talks, though… We’ll be getting your views on Saido shortly.

Lots of time left, but Albion may be done…

Do not scratch your eyes. This happening. West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for left-back Cheikh M’Bengue. the Senegal full-back plays for Ligue 1 side Rennes and currently has just 7 months left on his contract so the French outfit could be set to cash in on the 26-year-old.

The odds are shortening on Berahino to Spurs…

We’ve got some of your views on the Pritchard loan signing;

As we mentioned in the previous post James Chester was of interest from Swansea but Albion REJECTED a loan move for the defender.

The other bit of news from The Mirror is that James Chester could be a very late target for Swansea. Chester wants more game time to boost his chances of going Euro 2016 with Wales. Chester joined from Hull for a reported £8 million fee in the summer.

PAPER TALK: The Mirror have two bits of news for us. The first is that Albion striker Victor Anichebe has turned down a loan move to Championship side Derby. It’s reported he will not sign a new contract at The Hawthorns which can see him leave on a free in the summer.

It very much has the feeling of the calm before the storm. Not a lot happening at the moment but there’s still a long way to go yet. Will Pulis pull a rabbit out the hat?

Albion have made just one signing so far this window and that was the loan deal to bring Sandro to The Hawthorns from QPR. After he signed we looked at FIVE reasons who he’s a good signing for The Baggies. Take a read – http://readwestbrom.com/2016/01/29/five-reasons-sandro-good-signing-albion/

One signing that has happened today is the loan deal of Alex Pritchard. The Spurs midfielder has undergone a medical and will join the club on a loan until the end of the season. Albion have a loan space available after Gnabry has gone back to his parent club Arsenal. Here’s the full story on Pritchard to West Brom – http://readwestbrom.com/2016/01/31/pritchard-baggies-medical/

The biggest story of the day looks like it will be about Saido Berahino. The club have reportedly rejected bids of £21 million for the forward from both Newcastle and Stoke. Tottenham are also interested in the England under-21 international and could come in with a late bid for the player. We’ll be getting your views on Berahino throughout the day.

I’d say we should interact on Twitter but iIm currently making a stand against the club, as you can see below. Hopefully, this changes today. Can Sandro play left back?
