West Brom have invited the agent of Belgian striker Laurent Depoitre to the Hawthorns to watch a game in the near future as the club begin to look for a replacement for Saido Berahino, who looks set to leave in the summer.

According to Laurie Whitwell of The Mail, Albion have been scouting the 27-year-old in the recent Champions League games he’s played for Gent against Wolfsburg.

Depoitre’s contract with Gent expires in the summer of 2017 and with interest in him from clubs across Europe, it’s unlikely that he’ll sign an extension so the Belgian side look set to sell him at the end of this season for as little as £8million.

Despite his recent apology for trying to force a move away from Albion, it is still expected that Berahino will be exiting the club in the summer and if West Brom can secure a large fee and get Depoitre for £8million, Tony Pulis will have the excess cash available to strengthen his squad.
