West Brom chasing Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto
At one point this season, West Brom and West Ham were vying for league position in the table but now they’re battling for the signature of the same player.
According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, both the Baggies and the Hammers are interested in signing Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto when the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old moved to Serie A in July 2014 and following a breakthrough loan spell with Ascoli last season where he netted five goals and recorded nine assists in 35 games, earned his place in the first-team squad for this season.
A Czech Republic U21 international, Jankto has again impressed by scoring three goals and tallying four assists so far this season and West Brom are plotting a scouting mission to Italy later in the season to watch him in action.
West Brom have a wealth of industry and experience in their midfield but lack a real creative influence who has an eye for goal – something Jankto can offer in spades.
