One West Brom player who has improved massively this season is Craig Dawson, at both ends of the pitch

On the back of his two goals against Arsenal following a string of solid performances across the season, it should only be a matter of time before England boss Gareth Southgate chooses him in his list of young players for the Senior Squad; either as a right back or a centre half.

The main attribute I cannot fault with Dawson is his willingness to give his all every minute of every game. The desire to run until he physically cannot run any more. The determination to correct any errors he may have made throughout the game. It is very rare you will find a player like this these days. Without forgetting, that he does know where to find the net too.

Comparing him to his main competition for and England jersey, I would honestly say that Kyle Walker is the only right-back I can think of who is better than him. Tottenham’s defensive record over the past couple of seasons has been phenomenal but if you’re a person who likes stats, Dawson more appearances, goals, blocks and has cleared more attacking moves than Walker and it’s not even close.

If Dawson continues at this level, it should only be a matter of time before Southgate calls the former Rochdale man up.
