West Brom have had a very good season but things are starting to fall a bit flat and the outside shot of qualifying for Europe has gone with Albion finding themselves 13 points behind 7th placed Everton.
So, with things petering out a bit as we approach the end of the season, it’s only natural for us to have at least one eye on the transfer window and the possible additions that Albion will make in the summer.
Tony Pulis has often been left frustrated when transfer windows have closed in the past, so here’s hoping that he actually gets the players he wants this summer.
I’ve taken a look at five players who I personally would love Albion to sign for my summer wish list. Keep in mind that I’ve gone for realistic signings, because, as nice as it would be to see Neymar at the Hawthorns, it’s unlikely to happen!
Mamadou Sakho
Liverpool look set to let Mamadou Sakho leave in the summer and although they are apparently asking for £30m, the likelihood is that they’ll probably get about two-thirds of that amount. The Frenchman has been excellent for Crystal Palace during his loan spell there and would be a great replacement for Gareth McAuley.
Andrew Robertson
Allan Nyom has done a decent job at left-back but I’d like to see Albion have someone with a bit more attacking intent on the left and Hull’s Andrew Robertson would certainly provide that.
William Carvalho
William Carvalho has been linked with Albion for a long time now. Let’s just go and buy him, eh!
Chris Wood
I know Chris Wood’s last spell at Albion didn’t go so well but he’s a much better striker now than he was then. The New Zealander has scored goals for fun at Leeds and his style of play seems perfect for a Pulis side.
Gylfi Sigurdsson
If Swansea get relegated, which is looking likely at this stage, there is no way that Gylfi Sigurdsson will be content to play Championship football. He’s likely to have a lot of suitors and I’d love West Brom to be one of them.
