West Brom made January move for Colombian defender
West Brom reportedly launched an offer to sign Yerry Mina from Palmeiras last January.
According to a report from the Catalan newspaper Sport, as covered in a report by Sport Witness today, the Colombian defender was the subject of an €18m offer from West Brom back in the January transfer window. However, their approach to sign Mina was rebuffed by the Brazilian club.
It’s stated that Leicester are also exploring the possibility of landing Mina this summer, but the player himself is keen on remaining in South America to further his development.
Lots of European heavyweights have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old as well. Barcelona and Manchester City have both been touted with interest as the composed defender’s stock continues to rise.
Interestingly, it’s claimed that Barca have an option to sign Mina for just €9m if they want to this summer, which could be an attractive proposition for both parties.
Whether or not West Brom make an offer in the summer is yet to be seen, but Mina certainly won’t be short of potential suitors.
