Egyptian defender Ali Gabr is yet to attain his work permit and as such, his debut for West Brom will have to be postponed.

The Baggies picked up the Egyptian centre half on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season. West Brom have sent off the corresponding paper work but it’s currently being processed at the British Embassy in Cairo. Therefore, Gabr won’t be able to play against Chelsea on Monday so he is set to make his debut when Southampton travel to The Hawthorns in the FA Cup.

West Brom currently sit 20th in the Premier League and need all the help they can get defensively so the wait for Gabr’s arrival could not be more vital. Gabr’s fellow countryman; Ahmed Hegazi, has netted two goals this season and will be waiting for Ali Gabr’s arrival at The Hawthorns

The 29-year-old defender has failed to appear in the Baggies two Premier League games since he signed; vs Manchester City and Southampton. West Brom failed to win either of these games and manager Alan Pardew will be hoping the centre half’s arrival will bring a breath of fresh air around The Hawthorns.
