I think it’s safe to say that West Bromwich Albion are heading down.

Whilst survival is still mathematically possible, I would think even the most optimistic of Baggies fan has resigned themself to the fact that the club will be plying their trade in the second tier of English football next season.

If the club are to go down, it’s likely that a good proportion of the playing squad, especially the more ‘established’ players, will be keen on a move back to the Premier League.

I can’t see the likes of Jonny Evans, Kieran Gibbs, Gareth Barry, Nacer Chadli and Salomon Rondon being up for a season of Championship football and I’m confident that most, if not all of them, will have departed come the start of next season.

Baring that in mind, I have listed five Championship players to replace the players I have listed above. Five players who I feel would be undoubtedly tempted by a move to the Hawthorns and would help the club mount a serious promotion push to get back into the Premier League, if they were to sign.
