West Brom have appointed Italian Giuliano Terraneo as a techincal consultant, moving quickly to replace the sacked Nick Hammond.
Terraneo joins the club with a wealth of experience in Italy. The Italian arrives at The Hawthorns for an initial six-month period, with the club set to review their backroom structure afterwards.
The news comes after the sacking of Nick Hammond, who was a key figure in the hiring of Alan Pardew, who managed just one league victory as West Brom boss.
Mark Jenkins, Albion chief executive, confirmed that Terraneo will join the club in a key time for the Baggies, as they attempt to stay in the Premier League.
He told the Albion website that:
Giuliano joins us in what we all acknowledge will be a very important close season.
He will assist in the recruitment of a new Head Coach and the re-structure of the squad. In the event of our losing Premier League status, it will be a squad we will want to compete strongly for promotion back to the top tier.
Giuliano will assist in the recruitment long-term of a new Sporting and Technical Director and he will also be involved in the complete review of the recruitment department.
Terraneo has a wealth experience in Italy, with clubs such as Monza, Lazio and Inter Milan.
