Chadli can leave for £17million if Baggies hit drop
West Brom’s record signing, who is set to make his comeback this weekend, can leave for just £17million if West Brom get relegated this season, according to the Telegraph.
The Belgian winger is the third Baggies player in recent weeks, after Jonny Evans and Salomón Rondón, to have had a relegation release clause revealed
The Belgium international joined Albion from Tottenham in a deal worth around £18million in the summer of 2016, and after a injury-hit campaign it seems destined that he will leave the club once their relegation is confirmed.
Albion were demanding around £25million for Chadli last summer and while Swansea did bid for him, they fell short of the club’s valuation.
However, a significantly lower figure will surely tempt clubs this summer, with the winger set to make his first appearance this year at the weekend.
Chadli last played against Stoke on December 23, having just came back from a lengthy injury lay-off then, but was further ruled out with a hip injury.
Now he is fit and available to Darren Moore ahead of this weekend’s hosting of Liverpool at the Hawthorns.
Chadli’s price tag will definitely help spark West Brom’s summer rebuild plans, where a number of players will be shifted and brought in.
Firstly though, Albion must find a new manager, and while Moore made a good impact with a 1-0 win over Manchester United last weekend, he is unlikely to get the job permanently. Michael Appleton, Dean Smith and Nigel Pearson are some of the linked names as of now.
