Darren Moore was the West Brom fans’ first choice to be Alan Pardew’s permanent replacement over the summer after impressing during his temporary stint in charge of the club.
Even with no senior management experience, the club’s former defender will now get the chance to be the figurehead in West Brom’s promotion charge this season.
Despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League, Moore proved to be a hit with supporters after positive results against Manchester United and Liverpool last season.
The Baggies will start life in the Championship at home to Bolton, before a double-header on the road against Nottingham Forest and Norwich, games which, as 888sport users will know, Albion will be huge favourites for.
Moore has been working throughout the summer as he bids to put his own stamp on the Baggies squad. It has been an eventful close season for the club, who are adjusting to life in the second tier.
Players with valuable Championship experience have all been brought into the club, with the likes of Kyle Bartley, Sam Johnstone and Harvey Barnes hoping to make a mark on the opening day, while the likes of Jonny Evans, Ben Foster and James McClean have all been moved on as part of a squad shake-up.
Bolton themselves will be looking to start fresh in the new season after narrowly missing out on relegation to League One last season.

The Wanderers will provide a stern test of what is to come in the second tier, but a positive result on the opening day will certainly calm some nerves at the Hawthorns as the Baggies prepare for a long and tough campaign, with promotion back to the Premier League the end goal for Moore’s side.
