Premier League side Burnley are prepared to offer Wales international striker Sam Vokes as part of a deal to sign Baggies forward Jay Rodriguez, according to a report on the Mirror.
Sean Dyche is desperate to take Rodriguez back to Turf Moor but has found West Brom’s £20m valuation difficult to match so far.
However, Dyche is preparing to submit an offer of Vokes plus some cash to tempt the Baggies into selling the former Burnley forward.
West Brom have stood firm so far this summer and have rejected two advances from the Clarets already, but Dyche is determined to capture his target before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow evening.
After losing Salomon Rondon on loan to Newcastle United, the Baggies are lacking a target man up front and Vokes could be an ideal replacement.
Rodriguez managed to get his name on the scoresheet 11 times for West Brom last season but it wasn’t enough to save them from relegation to the Championship.
Rodriguez is open to the idea of returning to his former club, who are playing European football this season, but it is down to the two clubs to agree on a deal.
