West Brom have rejected a loan offer from Watford for defender Craig Dawson.

Sky Sports report that West Brom have turned down Watford’s initial offer to take Dawson on loan, with a view to buy at the end of the season.

The report claims that Watford offered £750k as a loan fee, with the option to sign him permanently for £10m at the end of the season.

This included a payment system which would see Watford pay four instalments of £2.5m for the central defender.

West Brom reportedly value Dawson at £20m, after he impressed for the club last season – despite relegation to the Championship.

The club have already signed Kyle Bartley to bolster their defensive options, with the deadline for English clubs coming at 5pm on Thursday the 9th August.

West Brom, though, will be able to sign players on loan up until the 31st August – although this rule does not apply to Premier League clubs.
