West Brom are set to offer midfielder Sam Field on loan to Rangers as they try to secure a deal for defender James Tavernier.
The Guardian report that Field could go on loan to Ibrox and join Steven Gerrard’s side in an exchange deal for Rangers right back Tavernier, who Albion have been chasing for a while.
The Baggies had a bid turned down for the defender yesterday, amid suggestions that Rangers want over £7 million for the defender.
Sending Field to Ibrox could tempt Gerrard to let Tavernier go, with the midfielder highly rated at the Hawthorns. Field made several appearances for Albion last season but is in need of more game time.
His first team opportunities have been limited recently, and a loan switch to the Scottish Premiership could see more game time for the 20-year-old.
Albion will have to work quickly to secure a deal, with the window closing soon for Premier League clubs.
