West Brom are likely to come up short in their pursuit of Rangers skipper James Tavernier.

Chris Jack of the Herald has claimed that the Glaswegians will not sell the full-back today, having previously demanded a fee in the region of £7 million.

The Baggies were understood to have submitted a bid of £3 million last night, with Brighton also showing interest in the 26-year-old.

Struggling to add defensive help in the latter stages of the transfer window, West Brom saw a move for Yeovil’s Tom James collapse at the final hurdle in addition to losing out to Derby for a loan signing of Ola Aina from Chelsea.

Jack claims that West Brom haven’t improved on their offer of £3 million, and are resigned to the fact they will be unable to prise the right-back from Ibrox in this window.
