Puel considering deal to recall Harvey Barnes
West Brom could lose Harvey Barnes during the January transfer window, with Leicester City boss Claude Puel hinting he’ll look at the player’s situation in the new year.
According to the Leicester Mercury, the player could head back to the King Power, with a recall clause inserted into the loan deal that saw him join West Brom during the summer.
The 20-year-old forward has three goals in two assists to his name in just eight league outings as the Baggies sit 4th in the table.
He announced himself earlier this week, scoring one and providing two goals for teammates as Darren Moore’s side ran out 4-2 winners over Bristol City.
On the player, Puel said:
We will see. Of course, I follow Barnes, I follow Filip Benkovic (on loan at Celtic) and everyone on loan. It is important to look at their performance. We will see what happens in January. Harvey had some game-time last season. It was interesting. He came back in January with us. At the beginning of the season, he was not ready to remain with us.
He wanted game-time to play and didn’t have the good focus with us. We will see in January and at the end of the season.
Barnes is rated highly at the King Power Stadium and signed a four-year contract extension before moving to the Hawthorns until the end of the season.
The forward has been in a similar situation before, having been at Barnsley last season before returning in January to make three Premier League appearances from the bench.
