Burnley are still interested in a deal to sign Jay Rodriguez from West Brom during the January transfer window.
According to a report from Sky Sports News, Sean Dyche’s men could launch a move to sign the player as part of a double swoop for both Rodriguez and Brentford’s Ollie Watkins.
Burnley were heavily linked with a move to sign Rodriguez over the summer but were unable to meet West Brom’s asking price, which was said to be in the region of £18 million.
Despite having bids for the forward turned down, they refused to go any higher and would pursue other targets for the remainder of the summer window.
However, the Clarets are still believed to be admirers and Rodriguez has impressed during the first half of the season in the Championship.
West Brom will be keen to do all they can to keep hold of the player, given the deadly partnership he has formed with Dwight Gayle.
