West Brom are expected to be in the market for a right full-back come the January transfer window.
With the only traditional right-back in the squad 35-year-old Tyrone Mears, Darren Moore is expected to do what he can to bring some younger talent in at the position.
Here are five right backs West Brom could sign in January:
Jonjoe Kenny - Everton
A potential loan for Kenny could prove to be beneficial for both the Baggies and Everton. The 21-year-old has made four appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees this season, but could find himself playing week in, week out for West Brom.
Matteo Darmian - Manchester United
The Italian has fallen out of favour at United, and West Brom could welcome the 29-year-old either on a permanent or temporary basis. With just two appearances in all competitions, Darmian’s United career is just about
Joel Ward - Crystal Palace
A not too dissimilar option to Darmian, Ward is an experienced right-back who has been displaced in his club’s starting XI. Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears to have staked a claim to the Palace RB spot for at least the next ten years, and so Ward could find a new lease of life away from Selhurst Park.
Deyovaisio Zeefuik - FC Groningen
The 20-year-old has impressed for his club in the Eredivisie so far this year, and is a physical presence at the right-back spot. Interest may come in from other top-flight European clubs, but if West Brom pounce in January, they stand a chance at landing the Dutch U19 international.
Reece James - Wigan Athletic (on loan from Chelsea)
James has made 20 appearances in the Championship so far this season, and has looked remarkably composed for an 18-year-old. This is a bit of a cheeky one since the Londoner is currently on loan from Chelsea, so the Baggies would have to wait until the summer. But don’t forget the name!
